Clinic Policy
Visiting ApexCare Medical Clinic (Our Policy)
We’re pleased to support your health and wellbeing with thoughtful, patient-centered care. The following guidelines help us deliver a seamless and respectful experience for everyone.
Before Your Appointment
Please bring a valid provincial health card to every visit. If your coverage is inactive, expired, or unavailable, applicable uninsured service fees may apply.
New to Our Clinic
We welcome new patients through an initial Meet & Greet appointment. Ongoing care is established at the discretion of each physician to ensure the best fit for your healthcare needs.
Walk-In Care
Our walk-in services are designed for brief consultations, and we encourage one concern per visit. If you have multiple concerns, we advise that you book a follow-up appointment so we can give each issue the attention it deserves.
Fees & Prescribing Practices
Uninsured Services
While many services are covered by Manitoba Health, some are not and may involve a fee. These can include but not limited to:
- Medical notes (sick, school, or work)
- Completion of insurance forms
- Manitoba’s drivers’ medical assessment
- Disability tax credit forms
- Travel related consultations
Our team is happy to provide details for all uninsured services and current fees—please feel free to ask.
Controlled Medications
For your safety, our physicians follow strict prescribing guidelines set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Controlled substances, including opioids, are not prescribed during walk-in visits.
Your Privacy & Clinic Experience
Confidentiality
Protecting your personal health information is a top priority. We only release medical records with your written consent, in full compliance with privacy standards.

Respectful Conduct
We are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming space. We kindly ask all patients to treat staff and fellow visitors with courtesy and respect.
ApexCare Medical Clinic enforces a zero-tolerance policy for abusive or threatening behaviour, including harassment, intimidation, or aggression. Patients who do not adhere to this standard may be asked to leave and could be dismissed from the clinic.
Appointment Policy
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. Providing advance notice of any changes allows us to care for other patients in a timely manner.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance.
- First missed or late-cancelled appointment: written warning
- Second occurrence: $50 no show fee
- Unpaid fees must be settled before future bookings
- New patients who miss their first appointment may return as walk-in patients
Please note that missed appointment fees are the responsibility of the patient and are not covered by insurance or provincial health plans.
While we strive to send reminders as a courtesy, appointment responsibility ultimately remains with the patient.
We understand that unexpected situations can arise. If you experience exceptional circumstances, please reach out—fee waivers may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
